Melissa Ashley

A visionary and steadfast leader, Melissa is a strategic driver of growth in her role as president and CEO at Corporate One. Melissa joined Corporate One in 1999. During her time with the organization, she has served in various roles, including controller, vice president of finance, and executive vice president/chief financial officer. Melissa became Corporate One’s president and CEO in 2018. Prior to Corporate One, Melissa worked at a Big Four accounting firm. She has a bachelor’s degree in accounting with a minor in computer science from The Ohio State University. She has also achieved the Certified Chief Executive designation from the Credit Union Executive Society (CUES) and is a certified public accountant in the state of Ohio.




Dave Brown

With extensive experience in the credit union industry, Dave is equipped to support your credit union from day one. When not at work, Dave enjoys spending time with family, traveling, golf, and aviation. He is also committed to serving his community. Dean Pielemeier

Dean Pielemeier currently holds the position of President/CEO at Abbey Credit Union.  He has worked in the financial industry for 30+ years, beginning his career at Permanent FSB in Evansville, IN.   After Permanent FSB, Dean became an NCUA Field Examiner for several years, working primarily in Indiana.  Dean left NCUA to accept an SVP position with Hoosier Hills CU. During his 18 years at Hoosier Hills, he helped the credit union grow from $40 to $300 million.  Dean moved to Dayton, OH, to lead the lending operations of Day Air CU and then accepted his current position at Abbey.  He holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Oakland City University. Dean and his wife live in Centerville, OH.




Joe Sullivan

As VP of Strategic Advisory at Accolade, JD Pisula leads a team of professionals providing institutional investment advice, interest rate risk management, and balance sheet strategies to credit unions nationwide. Accolade’s team of consultants work with nearly 100 credit unions across the country and advise on over $1.5 billion as an outsourced Chief Investment Officer. Prior to Accolade, JD served as the Director of Investments for the State of Ohio and served in the administration of Ohio Governor John Kasich. He is a CFA charter holder and earned degrees from both Denison University and The Ohio State University.




Kathy Haas

President/CEO - COPFCU

Kathy is passionate about the credit union philosophy of people helping people and has been working in credit unions for 30 years. Starting in financial services during college, Kathy began in an entry-level role, working her way up the organization and with hard work and determination, reaching the top.


She has a proven track record of success in many leadership positions, including guiding two credit unions through record growth and profitability as its President/CEO. Kathy believes in the importance of serving her members and members of the community. She values the commitment and dedication shown by those who choose to serve others.


Kathy is a lifetime resident of Cincinnati and a graduate of Xavier University and CUNA Management School. In her spare time, Kathy likes to spend time with her two kids, being outdoors and enjoys playing or watching sports.




Todd Baumann

Senior Manager of Risk & Cybersecurity Services - GBQ

Todd Baumann is a versatile professional with 17+ years of expertise in enterprise architecture, business continuity and risk management. He drives impactful GRC strategies and innovative solutions for operational resilience, specializing in GRC tools for risk management frameworks. Todd excels in recovery planning, testing, BIA, crisis management and regulatory compliance. He leads cross-functional teams, optimizing efficiency while aligning IT and business goals, delivering innovative solutions for immediate and long-term challenges in evolving risk landscapes.


Prior to GBQ, Todd demonstrated expertise across several industries. As a senior enterprise architect at an electric utility firm, he led cloud adoption, deployed the first Azure workload, established processes for assessing application health, and spearheaded IAM upgrades. At a major national bank (2000-2018), he built an operational risk program, implemented a GRC tool for the COSO framework, and standardized the risk register per Basel 3 as Operational Risk
Manager (SVP). As Director of Enterprise Business Resiliency (SVP), his team reduced recovery time by 80%. As Senior Architect (VP), he defined IT architecture standards and led disaster recovery deployments.

Ed Jesionowski

Ed is a former Sportswriter and Teacher who has been working with Credit Unions for over 20 years.  His specialty is Credit and Debit Growth Strategies.  He has done a Credit/Debit Portfolio Analysis for more than 600 Credit Unions since 2004.   Since 2017, Ed has been a Consultant for CU*Answers where he covers Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee. Coincidentally, in the past 7 years, CU*Answers has grown from 270 Credit Unions to 390.
